Dogs are cute and cuddly and sometimes even more so when you throw a Halloween costume on them. Alas, I never understood the reasoning behind the dog Halloween costumes but I have to say that seeing a Labrador Retriever sit pretty while its owner dresses them up in some ridiculous costume makes me love them even more!
There are not many dog breeds that will tolerate a human dressing them in clothes. All right, so those little foo-foo dogs will allow their dog owners to but that is just because they are so small and cold that they welcome any extra warmth that the silly rhinestone studded expensive pink sweaters will give.
On the other hand, you have Labradors Retrievers and other big dogs that normally laugh in the face of clothes. Heck, my own Lab Brats tore the dog shirts off each other when I was give a couple of shirts to try out from a printing company. But given the Labrador’s good nature and willingness to please, they will often sit there and take the silly human abuse of darning clothing for their human’s amusement.
We are proud of you Labrador Retrievers that permit your humans to do this to you… for you are a top notch dog breed; large in size and in heart!
