I have my second Weimeraner now after loosing the first one to idiopathic siezures. I am looking for the healthiest dry dog foods for my Katie dog. Your article helped me select a much better dry food to feed her. I love to treat her with table scrap goodies too. I'm so disgusted with manufacturing ingredients that I hope the sub-standard feed suppliers go bust. While my dog would never bite back I will, so I'm the one to watch out for. Katie says hi to Dakota and Cheyenne! Ruff Ruff! God bless these wonderful creations!

We are huge fans of Orijen for our lab, Abbey. We just switched from chicken to fish thinking she might have a chicken allergy. The $350 allergy test at the vet was too steep! Orijen and their sister company Acana are high quality and holistic foods :) Abbey was on Blue Buffalo for about 6 months and although it's a higher quality than most brands, she had intermittent loose stools.

We own a Shih Tzu, or should I say she owns us. She is real picky. One time she'll eat something & the next she won't. As a pup she was getting sick everytime she ate so the vet had us feed her cooked hamburger & rice. Again, she's real picky & eats it for a while & then we have to find something else. We basicly feed her what we eat. We just have to search around to figure what she will & will not eat at any given time. Thought it would be real handy to feed her dry dog food. Tried to starve her to it & starve her is all we accomplished. She'd have absolutely nothing to do with the dry food. We're to the point that if we have chicken, so does she. We feed her a lot of deli meat. She even eats fruits & veggies. Again, rice is added to most of the food we fix for her. Yes, she has her own queen size bed, however she does allow us to sleep with her.

I don't recommend Science Diet due to the list of ingredients and the lack of quality control. Most vets recommend Science Diet because they get a cut back from the manufacturer - just like human doctors get cut backs from certain medications that they prescribe. I have only ever used high quality holistic or organic foods and have never been disappointed.
