Dog owners want to make sure that their pup is not only getting the best dog food but that they humans are spending on quality rather than quantity. When we first brought home our Labrador Retrievers, we had no clue what to feed our new puppy so we started to try different foods and found out the hard way that it is better to spend the money on the dog food now then on the even higher veterinarian bills later – that’s why we went with Holistic Select Dog Food.
We have been feeding the Lab Brats Holistic Select for over 5 years now and recommend it to everyone we meet. Why?
Holistic Select:
- is a high quality holistic dog food
- ingredients list doesn’t start off with animal by-products or fillers
- is made in the USA
- has a money back guarantee on all their products
- checks every ingredient going into the factory and every batch coming out
- was one of the few NOT to be recalled during the dog food scare
- makes all of their product information readily available to dog owners
- is one of the few dog foods that will NOT cause allergies in Labrador Retrievers
- provides information on slowly transitioning your dog food
- provides real coupons to their newsletter subscribers
- has veterinarian tips, nutritional articles and pet care advice
- allows dog owners to explore their dog food ingredients online
- helps you choose the right dog food for your pup online
- and more!
The Lab Brats were sent samples of their dog food but, even though the Lab Brats loved trying other flavors of dog food, we were already sold on this dog food. That is why we recommend Holistic Select to our readers, members of our Labrador Retriever Meetup Group and other dog loving friends.
You don’t have to be a large breed dog owner to gain the benefits of this premium dog food. Just go to the Holistic Select website and plug in your dog’s life stage, activity level, breed size, condition and formula preference to find the right dog food for your pet!
What are your thoughts on Holistic Select? Is it a dog food you would recommend to other dog owners?
Please note: Although we did receive a few samples, we are not affiliated nor employed by Holistic Select and do not receive compensation of any type for this blog post. The statements made in this post are on behalf two Labrador Retrievers that love their dog food and a human that loves having very healthy and happy Labrador Retrievers.

Really awesome blog post, I appreciate such blogs, do keeping writing, great job
Keep in mind that the listed ingedients on the dog food package are not listed by content as are ingredients in food for humans. We had a terrible experience with supposedly THE top rated dog food. After doing a bit of research we found that many pet owners had very similar results with this top rated food. I won’t mention the brand but it is heavily promoted at Petsmart.
I’m in the process of trying various dog foods for my Brody. He was on Iams and this spring had a bad reaction. Although he will eat anything, I’m leaning toward Natural Planet Organics, I can order it very reasonable which to my pocket book now if important. http://www.petandkennelsupply.com/Natural-Planet-Organics-p384.html
I like the companies quality statement, the fact that 2 of the first three ingredients are meat (Organic chicken, chicken meal, organic brown rice,) and the rice is brown, not white. and the company has been in business for over 40 years, owns their own manufacturing plant and has never been on the USDA list of recalled foods.
Anyways, that’s my two cents.
I don’t have a lab retriever but I do have a highly allergic/sensitive Rhodesian Ridgeback. I usually make her food for her – a high protein, low carb homemade dog food recipe. I’ll check out this recommendation – thanks.
